This course will focus on hosting your own web-sites through a series of essential requirements including domain registration, IP addresses, network-engineering, web-hosting, mail-servers and general application deployment.
Hands on tutortrials and live demonstration of real web site deployment from a choice of custom social networking, Classifieds advertisement platform or Word Press blogging web-site.
This course is for everyone and in particular for Senior Citizens who may be feeling insecure and left behind by their children and grandchildren who are Tik Tok'ing, Streaming on Instagram and feeling like their parents are 'old-skool' and don;t get it.
The course requires no formal knowledge or understanding of Computers or the Internet and aims to build confidence and skills in using these modern technologies including Smartphones.
It is particularly aimed at Senior Citizens on the basis that they may not be able to keep up with rapid changes in technology and the presumption that they need to be computer literate to get the best out of them.
This course aims to eliminate myths of computers being complicated and to help attendants understand basics of the Internet, Web sites, Apps, passwords, 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) and in general how to find what they are looking for on the Internet. How to use search engines, how to register accounts on-line and how to establish a safety mindset so that they are not caught up by Phishing and Scams.

As the youth commence or return to continue further education at universities across the country, why not join us on this journey into the world of Makers.
Maker has become synonymous with people making things happen with small electronic assemblies comprising of a controller and connections to the outside world and typically a part of the Internet of Things (IoT) connected to the www.
We've all heard of remote cat monitoring or remotely controlling appliances in your home. Perhaps when you're away on holiday and want to feed your cat
This course includes some theory and background information about the applications and projects that can be undertaken for as little as £10 invested in hardware such as Arduino or with a bigger budget a Raspberry Pi SBC (Single Board Computer) to create some very impressive projects such as your own Media Server or File Storage scheme.
In essence we will be exploring the point of integration of Software and Hardware culminating is a 'system' that solves specific problems.
This course is taught by a qualified Electronic Engineer so you will have plenty of oppotuinities to ask questions and learn new concepts.

In this course we will take a look at practical uses of the Arduino family of computing modules that is taking the Maker world to levels of creativity never seen before.
An Arduino module will be issued to every student and we will delve into the world of Sketches, interface our modules with the outside world and develop logic and code it using the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
This course is aimed at beginners who wish to break into the world of electronics and computing, particularly become familiar with Arduino modules and flash programming it to carry out a specific task.

Sensors are electronic devices that are used to detect the presence or change in attributes of a specific type of data. For example, a temperature sensor, sound pressure level, light luminosity sensor, gas sensor are all specific types of sensors that can be used to monitor or detect a change in value that may be of interest to our applications.
In this course we will give an overview of different types of sensors from an electronic engineering perspective to understand how we can design these components into our products to extend their functionality.
For example, we can use a photodiode to detect light or absence of it to draw the curtains at home or blinds in the office. Or, using a thermistor, we can measure the temperature and take some sort of action such as turning on the heating or the blower fan to cool down a room.

This course will introduce attendees to
We will be taking a close look at the construction of generic 3D printers, materials used to print objects and a host of sources where 3D models can be acquired saving you from CAD modelling.
in subsequent lessons we will take a look at CAD modelling, tools and as usual focus on Open Source tools and sources to ensure that costs are minimal, especially for those getting started in this field.
